Empowering Lives Through Meaningful Work

At Yayasan JCorp, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of ability. That’s why in 2025, we’re introducing a dedicated programme to support differently abled individuals in rebuilding confidence, gaining new skills, and securing meaningful, dignified employment.

In collaboration with PERKESO Johor, this initiative aims to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity — helping individuals with special needs reintegrate into the workforce and become active contributors to our economy and society.

More than just job placements, we’re focused on empowering independence. Through inclusive training modules conducted by Johor Skills Development Centre (JSkills), participants will gain essential workplace skills, improve their communication abilities, and build the confidence to succeed in various industries.

Tailored training includes:

  1. Hygiene Operations Course - Equips participants with key skills in maintaining clean, safe environments — from hospitals and restaurants to hotels and offices — while reinforcing workplace sanitation and health practices.
  2. Housekeeping Operations Course - Designed to accommodate different physical, sensory, and mental abilities, this course provides practical guidance in basic cleaning, organising, and household management — preparing participants for work or independent living.
  3. Skills Workshop for Retirees (Basic Electrical Wiring) - This workshop was joined by 25 retirees from PERHEBAT Johor who embraced the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and acquire practical skills that support independent and confident living. Beyond technical training, it empowered retirees with hands-on skills, enhanced their awareness of electrical safety in daily life, and encouraged continuous personal growth even beyond retirement.

Empowering Future Talent: Refurbishing Johor Skills Development Centre

As part of our commitment under the BRIDGE initiative, we are investing in better learning environments that uplift communities and strengthen livelihoods. One of our key efforts is the refurbishment of Johor Skills Development Centre (JSkills) — a leading institution dedicated to building a skilled and semi-skilled workforce through Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).

To ensure JSkills remains relevant in today fast-changing job landscape, a two-phase refurbishment plan is underway. Phase one includes critical upgrades to essential infrastructure such as toilets, roofing, and plumbing. Phase two will focus on repainting and electrical rewiring — creating a safe, vibrant, and conducive environment for learning.

This initiative is made possible through the strong support of Johor Corporation and its Group of Companies — Johor Plantations Group Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, JLand Group Sdn Bhd, and QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd. Together, we are working to ensure that JSkills continues to nurture a future-ready, resilient workforce — one that drives progress for Johor and beyond.
