Monsoon Relief: Waves of Support

When the monsoon season arrives, it brings not only heavy rain but also hardship to Johor’s Island communities. In response, Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor and Yayasan JCorp continue to stand united in compassion and service through the Monsoon Relief: Waves of Support initiative, a joint mission to uplift those most affected and strengthen community resilience.

The initiative first began in November 2024, where both foundations extended much-needed support to Pulau Aur, Pulau Tinggi, Pulau Pemanggil, Pulau Sibu, and Pulau Besar, reaching out to fishermen, boat operators, and families whose livelihoods were disrupted by the monsoon season. Aid packages included essential food supplies, hygiene kits, and financial assistance, alongside cheerful gestures like school supplies worth RM17,600 and KFC meals for children.

In Kampung Wak Salam, two families who lost their homes to fire were given financial aid, daily necessities, and new housing under Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor’s care, a moment made more meaningful by the presence of His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who personally presented the house keys.

Building on that momentum, the 2025 edition of the programme brought even greater impact. For the second year in a row, Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor, Yayasan JCorp, and the Mersing District Office came together to extend care and compassion to island residents. Guided by a shared commitment to community welfare, this collaboration reached 235 families and students from Pulau Sibu, Pulau Tinggi, Pulau Besar, Pulau Pemanggil, and Pulau Aur, providing hygiene kits, food supplies, cash aid, and school vouchers to ease their burdens ahead of the monsoon season.

The contributions were officially presented on 30 October 2025 at the Mersing District Office by Tuan Jamil Hasni Abdullah, District Officer of Mersing, together with Encik Mohd Anizam bin Jamian, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor, and Puan Zaidatul Zurita Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan JCorp.

Adding warmth to the initiative, 16 students from SK Pulau Sibu enjoyed a joyful back-to-school shopping trip in Mersing, a small yet powerful reminder that hope often begins with kindness.

In total, Yayasan JCorp contributed RM57,200 in 2025, continuing its mission to bring comfort, restore dignity, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness among Johor’s Island communities.

Championing Mental Wellness and Special Needs Inclusion

At Yayasan JCorp, we believe that every individual deserves the chance to be seen, heard, and supported regardless of their abilities. Our commitment to mental wellness and special needs inclusion has been a continuous journey of compassion, awareness, and empowerment.

In 2024, we marked Autism Awareness Day with the theme Breaking Barriers, Empowering Autistic Voices held in collaboration with the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ), NASOM, and various partners. The event celebrated the resilience and potential of the autistic community while encouraging greater understanding and acceptance. During the programme, Yayasan JCorp disbursed RM70,000 and launched the Yayasan JCorp CARE Fund dedicated to providing long-term assistance and support for individuals with special needs.

Later that year, Yayasan JCorp joined hands with KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital and Cerebrum to host the Autism and Mental Health Forum, which drew over 2,000 virtual participants. The event included an interactive Coping Strategies Workshop, equipping caregivers with practical tools and techniques to better support their loved ones in daily life.

In 2025, Yayasan JCorp continued to strengthen its role in early intervention and child development through the Early Detection and Occupational Therapy Screening Programme, organised between 29 September and 13 October 2025 in collaboration with JPNJ and Mindcare Therapy Center.

This initiative reached 200 students from 21 primary schools across Johor, offering vital screenings in key developmental areas such as attention and focus, motor coordination, visual perception, emotional regulation, and daily living skills (ADL). The programme also featured an awareness session for teachers, empowering them to better understand and support their students’ developmental needs.

Early detection can change a child’s future, and through this initiative, Yayasan JCorp continues to build bridges between teachers, parents, and health professionals, ensuring that no child is left behind.

Our journey does not stop here. In the years ahead, Yayasan JCorp will continue to host more forums, workshops, and outreach programmes to nurture empathy, raise awareness, and foster inclusion, paving the way for a more compassionate and understanding Johor.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our partners, educators, and caregivers for their unwavering dedication in helping every child grow, learn, and thrive in their own unique way.

Sharing Joy During Raya

Festive seasons are meant to be joyful for everyone — and we make sure they are.

In 2024, we celebrated Hari Raya with 20 orphans from the Johor Children Orphanage Welfare Organisation at Persada Johor. We gave Raya money and contributed RM20,000 to four welfare homes.

In 2025, during the #CaraKiter JCorp Aidilfitri Open House, we welcomed 30 special guests — children from orphanages, individuals with Down syndrome, and senior citizens — creating moments of togetherness that truly mattered.

We also contributed RM40,000 to three impactful organisations, including KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital to support their Deep Brain Stimulation programme for patients with neurological conditions.

Fighting Cancer, Together

Health is at the heart of every strong community, and so is early detection. At Yayasan JCorp, we believe that the fight against cancer begins with awareness, compassion, and collective action.

Over the years, Yayasan JCorp has proudly stood alongside the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation (TLJCF), supporting its meaningful mission to bring hope and care to those battling cancer. Since 2021, we have contributed RM300,000 through the annual Laksamana Fun Run, rallying communities across Johor to run not just for awareness, but in solidarity with every patient and family facing this journey.

In conjunction with Laksamana Run 2025, Yayasan JCorp continued this commitment with a contribution of RM70,000 to TLJCF. The mock cheque was presented by Puan Zaidatul Zurita Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan JCorp, to YAM Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim, Royal Patron of the Laksamana Run, during the Mock Cheque Presentation and Flag-Off Ceremony held on 18 October 2025 at Gateway Garden, Bandar Medini Iskandar.

Earlier this year, Yayasan JCorp also contributed RM100,000 to TLJCF in support of cancer treatment and care. The contribution was presented during Symphony for Hope: A Decade of Compassion, a charity dinner and concert held on 18 July 2025 at the Permaisuri Zarith Sofea Opera House, Johor Bahru. Encik Rozaini Mohd Sani, Chairman of Yayasan JCorp, handed over the mock cheque to TLJCF Board Member, Dato’ Ismail Karim, as part of a heartfelt celebration of resilience and unity.

Looking ahead, Yayasan JCorp remains deeply committed to advancing wellness initiatives and cancer screening programmes that encourage proactive health management and strengthen the spirit of compassion across Johor.

Together, we continue to run, give, and fight — for awareness, for strength, and for every life touched by cancer.

Feeding the Future

From December 2023 to April 2024, we partnered with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to provide free meals to 1,400 B40 students — ensuring no one had to learn on an empty stomach.

Together with volunteers and students from the Food Preparation and Nutrition Programme, we addressed food insecurity while giving young people valuable experience in community service.

Nourishing bodies. Fueling dreams. That is what we are here for.

Caring for Every Generation

Whether it is a newborn baby or a respected elder, we believe everyone deserves care that uplifts and dignifies.

In collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor, we reached out to 190 patients at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru — offering newborn kits, breastfeeding care supplies, school essentials for paediatric patients, and adult care items for the elderly.

By giving families a little comfort, we help lighten their load — because real care spans all ages and life stages.
