From Classroom to Career, One Step at a Time

At Yayasan JCorp, we believe that education should lead to opportunity, and that every young person deserves a clear, confident path toward employment. In line with this belief, we have been supporting and strengthening the Akademi Dalam Industri (ADi) programme since 2023.

Formerly known as the SLDN programme, ADi equips students with real-world, industry-relevant skills through hands-on experience in the workplace. Our goal is simple, to prepare Johor’s youth for the workforce through structured, meaningful training that makes a lasting difference.

We began with 25 pioneering students in the first cohort, all selected for their potential and drive. In 2024, we expanded the programme to include another 38 students from four additional schools in Johor. Each participant went through a rigorous selection process, including written tests and interviews, before joining the programme.

Students gained practical training at 18 KFC restaurants strategically located near their schools, learning in real environments while developing professional and interpersonal skills that will last a lifetime.

Behind the scenes, we work closely with QSR Stores Sdn Bhd, the Department of Skills Development (JPK), and the Johor State Education Department (JPNJ) to monitor the quality, impact, and relevance of every training module, supported by a dedicated team of technical advisors.

In 2025, the programme achieved a significant milestone when 22 Johor youths from B40 families successfully graduated as the first batch of ADi apprentices. The graduation ceremony was held on 9 September 2025 at Kompleks Warisan Sultan Abu Bakar, Yayasan Warisan Johor.

With SKM Level 2 and 3 certification, SPM, MPAK, and real-world experience now under their belts, these graduates are ready to take their first steps into the nation’s workforce with confidence and purpose.

In 2025, ADi expanded beyond the food services industry into the healthcare sector, in collaboration with KPJ Healthcare Berhad. A total of 10 students were placed at KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn Specialist Hospital, where they gained hands-on experience in healthcare support services. This expansion marks a new chapter for ADi, preparing students not only for careers in hospitality but also in one of Johor’s most vital and growing industries.

To date, 89 students have been trained under ADi, including 25 in 2023, 38 in 2024, and 26 in 2025. Of these, 16 students were placed with QSR Brands and 10 with KPJ Healthcare Berhad, combining classroom learning with real industry practice.
