JOHOR BAHRU, July 17 (Bernama) -- SWM Environment Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Johor Corporation aim to collect 30 tonnes of glass bottles through 60 primary schools in Johor.
SWM Environment corporate general manager Mohd Norlisam Mohd Nordin said the campaign is meant to raise awareness of the environmental benefits of glass bottle recycling, sustainable waste management and biodiversity conservation. βAs part of the initiative, weβve introduced the Creative Glass Bottle Recycling Video Competition and the STEM Innovation Challenge to boost participation among teachers, students, parents and the wider community.
βThese complement existing activities such as the KITARecycle Glass Bottles campaign and the Glass Bottle Recycling Corner,β he said in a statement today. The programme returns this year following an encouraging response in Johor and is supported by the Johor State Education Department, Johor Bahru City Council and various industry sponsors, with RM30,000 in prizes being offered.
